Joel Exebio has a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, a Master and PhD in clinical nutrition, and is a Registered Dietitian in the US.  He has developed his career in two main areas: high performance sport nutrition and type 2 diabetes.

Due to his innovative research in those areas, he was nominated to the “Best Hispanic Novel Scientist Award” in 2011, won the “Biomedical Research Award”  from the US National Institute of Health (NIH) in 2013, and “The Worlds Ahead Award” in 2015, which recognized him as a leader in his field.

His research papers have been published in Europe, Brazil, Kuwait, and the US. He has worked as a consultant for several universities, food and nutritional supplement companies. In addition, he has provided personalized nutrition counseling to top level athletes around the world.

Nowadays, he continues doing research, publishing new papers, and giving conferences. In addition, he offers his nutrition counseling and research consultant services through his website.

“My goal is to conduct research in order to get results that can be applied on the field. The human body is an incredible system able to perform the most amazing tasks if you provide it with proper nutrition at the right time, monitor parameters constantly, and adjust the treatment accordingly. It is an ongoing individualized process, where detailed attention to the environment, habits, lab values, cultural background, ethnicity, clinical history, and genetics should be emphasized in order to bring the best individual performance.”

“Type 2 diabetes is now a global epidemic. The current approach has failed because it centers in the symptoms and not in the cause of the disease. We need a holistic approach that attacks the disease from different angles. A life style change where all family members are involved and a personalized counseling program available 24 hours a day all year round are required. Taking control of your diabetes is in your hands and we are here to guide you in that process.”

You can have access to individualized nutritional counseling or research consulting services with Dr. Exebio through this website.
